I don’t know how you start typing something like this without getting your fingers in knots.

We are nominated.

Gloria and me.

Among the ten finalists for best wedding photographer in Europe.

We read it together, with that rare silence that is sometimes only broken by nervous laughter. As if we didn’t quite believe it.

And yes, we know that awards aren’t everything.

But sometimes, when the year has been intense, when there have been days of not really knowing why you do what you do, when fatigue accumulates not only in your back but also in your head….

So, this weighs.

And it weighs beautifully.

Because it comes from colleagues. From colleagues we admire. From a community that often is the only thing that understands what it really means to dedicate oneself to this.

This year has been full to the brim.

Of weddings, of flights, of early mornings, of laughter, of hugs you didn’t want to let go of.

But also of doubts.

From moments when continuing to edit a wedding at three in the morning was an uphill struggle, even if the photos were beautiful.

And so, this recognition comes as a caress at just the right moment.
